DALLAS, TX - It's fight week in Dallas, Texas. On Saturday March 13 world champion Manny Pacquiao of The Philippines defends his World Boxing Organization Welterweight (147 lbs.) Title against world - rated Joshua Clottey of Accra, Ghana. One creative soul really out - did himself with this over - sized glove creation and we still have the rest of the week to go.
I don't know who gets the credit for this but credit is due. We figured this approximate 12 - foot tall by six - foot wide boxing glove (attached thumb) made out of a molded foam concoction was so inspirational that we had to take pictures and share with my readers.
We are on North Griffin Street in downtown Dallas on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
I don't know if this is one - of - a - kind and I just happened to stumble upon it or if there are more around town.
Whoever is able to take this down and fit into their car will certainly have a story to tell about the week Manny Pacquiao came to town to defend his world championship at Cowboys Stadium.
Several cars honked at us as they went by and I bet half were to look and laugh at me out in the pouring rain but I'll do anything opportunistic for my loyal readers.
Pacquiao, 50-3-2 (38 KO's) is the first and only fighter to have won seven world titles in seven different weight divisions. He and his trainer Freddie Roach are certain to be voted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY.
Clottey, 35-3 (21 KO's), is also a former welterweight champion and naturally bigger than Pacquiao.
A crowd of up to 50,000 will witness the fight live at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington and millions more will watch via pay - per -view all over the world.
